It was a crowded field — There are more than 22,500 staffing and recruiting agencies in the United States, but only 138 were recognized by Forbes for their excellence.

To draft their first-ever list of top staffing and recruiting firms, Forbes and Statista sent independent surveys to more than 26,500 recruiters and 5,400 job candidates and hiring managers. More than 6,400 nominations were submitted by recruiters and candidates, ranking the staffing firms on a five-star scale. Firms were not allowed to nominate themselves for recognition.
