Job Summary:  The Asst. Branch Manager/Sr. Staffer assists the Branch Manager to ensure that all financial performance goals are met including sales and profit goals. The position requires a strong ability to multi-task in various roles simultaneously including sales, recruiting & screening, hiring & training, office administration, managing office staff and maintaining good client relations & customer service. The Asst. Branch Manager / Sr. Staffer will be responsible for organizing, growing, maintaining, and managing the overall operation of the branch office.  This position will oversee & manage the daily operations of the branch office and report to Branch Manager 
 
 
Duties and Responsibilities
Asst. Branch Manager responsibilities (20%): 
 
  • Interviews, hires, orients, implement disciplinary action, and performs evaluation reviews on office staff. 
  • Provides ongoing leadership to develop and utilize the office staff to its fullest capacity.
  • Develop and grow an additional client base by selling our services for temporary and/or full-time staffing solutions.
  • Make telephone sales calls and conduct in-person meetings with key managers and senior-level executives, to sell our services to prospective clients and build on existing client relationships.
  • Select well-matched candidates to fulfill client job orders and maintain ongoing contact with clients and candidates currently on assignment to ensure both receive exceptional customer service.
  • Resolve any customer service issues quickly and efficiently to maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Work with staffing supervisors to identify and place well-qualified candidates.
  • Conduct phone screening interviews, coordinate, and conduct in-house interviews, prepare agendas, check references, conduct background checks, and make hiring recommendations.
  • Track and analyze recruiting and turnover activities
  • Prepare headcount reports 
  • Effective and efficient planning and implementation of company policies, controls, and compliance with applicable laws
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the branch
  • Must possess strong leadership and decision-making skills while maintaining unquestionable integrity
  • Establish and/or maintain regular and direct contact with existing clients to provide and coordinate service as required in keeping with the company’s principles regarding all aspects of sales, profitability, and client service
  • Oversee all aspects of personnel management for the temporary workforce including recruiting, organizing maintaining, developing, disciplining, and supervising, and dispatching the temporary workforce to be assigned to the client/clients through supervisors.
  • Ensure that proper hiring procedures are followed, including but not limited to compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Continuously supervise and monitor the service(s) being provided to the client by the temporary workforce and determine when changes are needed
  • Address and investigate client and worker complaints and work with the home corporate office to resolve complaints and issues as they arise
  • Respond to and resolve all complaints voiced by temporary workers regarding safety conditions or personnel matters on client job sites
  • Visit new client sites with sales associates to ascertain the suitability of working conditions and review job descriptions. In conjunction with company policies and vision accept or decline client and/or business. When in doubt, contact the home corporate office for guidance
  • Follow proven methods such as reactivation and develop new methods directed towards improving the retention of temporary employees
  • Decide when newspaper advertising is required for recruitment, design ads in conjunction with staffing supervisors 
  • Familiarize yourself with position descriptions of the office staff members; supervise the activities of the office staff; ensure the staff's adherence to their respective job descriptions; and ensure that the operating system is being correctly followed
  • Develop members of your staff by establishing expectations through coaching, training, counseling, discipline, and timely performance appraisals; communicate values through assigning accountabilities; and develop a climate for offering information and opinions
  • Maintain thorough documentation disciplinary matters and obtain the approval of the home corporate office prior to terminating any staff member
  • Be aware of all pertinent Federal and State laws concerning employee discrimination, wage administration, etc. Continually monitor your staff for adherence to such laws
  • Conduct yourself in such a manner and maintain the branch office in such a fashion that an impeccable example is set for all employees.
  • Oversee the completion of all unemployment claim forms; review for accuracy and sign completed forms; monitor determinations; appeal awards when appropriate
  • Investigate workers compensation claims; submit claims to the insurance carrier on time and follow-up on claim activity
  • Be aware of client credit standing aid in the collection of monies owed when necessary.
  • Make the home corporate office aware of any matters relating to the physical branch site, i.e., rent, invoices, expenses, etc., and forward to the home corporate office all invoices, accounting, and/or payroll issues
 
 
 
Sr. Staffer Responsibilities (80%):
 
The Staffing Coordinator meets with customers to understand their staffing needs and then recruits, interviews, and selects temporary employees who match those qualifications. 
Recruit, screen, assess, and hire employees to be placed in jobs that best match their interests, skills, and career goals. 
Reviews records to locate registered workers who match job requirements and are available for scheduled shifts. 
Notifies selected workers of job availability and records referral information on the system's database. 
Files records, and performs other clerical duties including phone, file status confirming Work Comp Insurance coverage, and data input. 
May give employment applications to applicants, schedule interviews and administer skill tests if necessary for job placement.

Operational duties include (but not limited to): 
  1. Recruiting, Screening, Interviewing, Application, and Testing Candidates 
  2. Taking/ filling orders and managing the order lifecycle 
  3. Targeted recruiting, screening, hiring, orientation, and training of temporary employees 
  4. Data Entry of applications and test results 
  5. Running background screens and communicating results 
  6. Problem resolution and employee relations 
 
  1. Customer reporting & service delivery 
  2. Administration of employee retention programs 
  3. Maintain communication between customers, temporary employees, and Action Group Staff 
  4. Participate in meetings with end-users to understand department needs. 
  5. Ensure overall satisfaction, and offer customized solutions 
  6. Strive to meet and exceed customer expectations 
  7. Special projects as assigned 
  8. Understanding of Workman’s Comp 
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 
  • Knowledge of, and experience in performing administrative duties, exhibiting excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of human resource management and supervision
  • Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices, office procedures and equipment, Working knowledge of methods and procedures analysis, budget formulation, and related administrative matters.
  • Skill in operating office equipment including automated equipment as required to accomplish the work
  • Skill in operating a computer terminal, personal computer, word processor to produce documents requiring the use and integration of advanced software functions in two or more software types
  • Ability to research and interpret guidelines/procedures to initiate and prepare various administrative forms
  • Ability to maintain a good working relationship with a diverse workforce, customers, visitors, and clients
  • Ability to lead and provide instruction to a support staff
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to gather facts and communicate findings clearly, both orally and in writing.
