Rotating Schedule - New employees will work a few days in our special product section on dayshift 7-3. Monday-Friday. After training they will transition to the rotating 3 shift schedule. They will work 5 days on and 2 days off. The shifts are 8a-4p, 4p-12a, 12a-8a. Every 7 days they move to a new shift. There are opportunities for OT.
Starting Pay: $18.81
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain the housekeeping and organization of the plant building, equipment and grounds.
- With adequate training become qualified to fill the entry level position in Production, Shipping, Special Products and any other applicable position.
- Attend tier meeting.
- Initiate and carry out all emergency procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
OTHER DUTIES THAT MAY BE ASSIGNED:
- Respond as soon as possible to pit area while we are pouring in the pit.
- Keep accurate production records as required.
- Understand manufacturing specifications and insure the finished product meet those specifications.
- Properly package, label and load finish product on pallets.
- Operate baler as required.
- Shrink wrap bales as needed.
- Set the slitter blades and counter as needed.
- Empty trash bins in plant as needed.
- Clean bird cage as required.
- Keep proper pallets and boxes stocked at the packaging area.
- Make new boxes up as needed.
- Maintain a clean safe work area.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
Safety glasses with side shields, 6 inch lace-up steel toe boots with metatarsal, work uniform, respirator, hard hat, hearing protection and gloves.
NATURE OF WORK:
Must be capable of lifting 70 lbs from floor to waist level; must understand and be capable of initiating emergency procedures. Once trained must be capable of safe operation of a forklift; once trained this position will sometimes fill the entry level position in the departments listed above. Refer to entry positions in these departments for additional information.
JOB CONDITIONS:
Employee is exposed to heat, outdoor temperatures, silica and alumina dust and fiber. Potential hazards include exposure to burns, cuts, bruises, abrasions and heavy lifting. Work boot wear may require replacement once per year.
