The ideal candidate will be able to create detailed fabrication drawings for steel components from architectural and structural design drawings. Experience using AutoCAD/ SolidWorks software is preferred.
Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in drafting and detailing steel in an Industrial fabrication environment.
• Knowledge of AISC steel construction, detailing design standards and guidelines.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Detail oriented and time efficient.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities include:
• Create and check erection and fabrication shop drawings for structural and / or miscellaneous metal.
• Modeling of structural steel members and connections using computer software.
• Follow blueprint and layout specifications.
• Complete job drawings according to schedule requirements.
• Use and understand basic weld types and sizing in various applications.
• Plan and calculate lengths and dimensions of various steel elements according to construction tolerances.
• Create detailed component shop drawing and material take offs.
• Understand basic fabrication process and construction techniques.
